Summary: A gifted scientist constructs an equally gifted robot, who sets out into the world for the first time with some unexpected and mind-blowing consequences.
For every stupid joke or eye-rolling moment there is something INSANELY AMAZING to compensate for it. I can't really call the end result 'good' but it is entertaining to say the least. I thought I would die from laughter at the mosquito chase scene. Watching this under the influence is pretty awesome.
What a masterpiece. It's so ridiculous that it's extremely hilarious. You will get a full body work-out by all that laughing. Probably doesn't deserve an 80, but I laughed so much and had such a good time (thanks to some plants)
Top badass moment? I suppose it has to be Chitti saving the people from the burning building. So okay, it all went a bit pear-shaped at the end, but it really wasn't his fault. Saving people from fires is always badass, even the naked ones. 0 cats and 'several' decapitations (probably). Chitti seems to lose his head on a number of occasions, but I'm not sure if these really count.
i have zero experience with bollywood or whatever, but this movie was so downright batty i couldn't not love it. a cross between bicentennial man, frankenstein and the terminator seemingly directed by india's answer to michael bay.
The most ridiculous film ever. Think of this as the bollywood version of a Mega Shark flick. Except there is robot clones that can multiply and form giant snakes. Yeah, its pretty awful.
Yet another Rajinikanth movie. The movie is an attempt to make a science fiction movie by Shankar and he doesnt fare well. The only aspect of this movie being special effects which is better than most of the previous Indian movies. This is not your regular Rajini entertainer. The story is predictable as always in any Shankar movie. The acting at best par, watch this movie with your brains left at home.
India's first stab at the cyborg genre is an all out winner. A blend of playful takes on Bollywood conventions with Big Man Japan scale battle scenes on a Matrix level vfx budget. It's fractal.
WHAT a movie. Is it silly? YES! Is it completely and UTTERLY over the top? Absolutely! is this a movie best watched with your brain in Neutral? But of course! Is it worth every cent I spent on the DVD? HELL YEAH! All that and more, when it comes to sheer entertainment value, hollywood could learn from this one, though I see from other reviews that most would disagree with me
Slightly racist, sexist and all out moronic venture into the sci-fi genre, with entirely idiotic characters except the villain. But hey: Hats off to Shankar, who, for no apparent reason, flew the entire crew to Peru only to Bollywood-bukkake all over South Americas cultural heritage with a tasteless and completely out-of-context dance scene on Inca ruins.
