A decent adaptation with fine performances but it is nowhere near as good as the book.

"Michell's screenplay retains the pretense of McEwan's theories on love, biology, and everything in between, but the transplant is trite and messy." - Ed Gonzalez

Rides that very fine line between silly and captivating; depending on your reaction to the opening (and pivotal) scene, it could go either way. I liked it, but found what happened after the first act a little hard to swallow. That opening scene is really extraordinary, and the whole thing is rich for interpretation, Jed being the atheists' guilt. Or whatever.

It's not a total waste, but it could have been so much better, Enduring love isn't as much of a chore as enduring Enduring Love proves to be. [Full Review]

I gave this a rent after Craig was announced as Bond, and it rocked me. Craig is great. Ifans, is better. An unexpected thriller with two masterpiece scenes of tension, Enduring Love is a high-suspense ride with few modern equals. It disturbs without scaring -- it shocks without gore. Hitchcock would be proud.

A bad movie with a few redeeming qualities. The opening and closing shots are beautiful and Daniel Craig does a good job with the script he's given. Beyond that the movie's a mess, it tries to give suspense\thriller feel but it has no thrills and little suspense. The characters' motivations are non-sensical and whatever point the movie is trying to make about love, this is not the way to do it.
