A Recent Mini-Review
"Cruise's scenes are fun but Lee Child's male fantasy of the bad-ass drifter blowing through town just doesn't translate well to the screen. The film badly needs a proper soundtrack instead of an orchestral accompaniment so we can hear the sounds of Americana, some real sense of place other than just "a city", and a rewrite to fix all those talky scenes. The set pieces are fun, but there's nothing much to watch here. 30 years ago this would have been an incredible made-for-tv movie." - Sat, 16:47
