Tim (Stiller) and Nick (Black) are best friends, neighbors and co-workers, whose equal footing is suddenly tripped up when one of Nick's harebrained get-rich-quick schemes actually succeeds: Vapoorizer, a spray that literally makes dog poop, or any other kind for that matter, evaporate into thin air. Tim, who had poo-pooed Nick's idea and passed on an opportunity to get in on the deal, can only watch as Nick's fortune -- and Tim's own envy -- grow to equally outrageous proportions. (DreamWorks)

Of the many duos to come from the "Frat Pack," Stiller and Black might have the least chemistry. They're not terrible together, but this movie lacks the charm and much of the humor that makes most of "Frat Pack" movies so enjoyable. Well, you can't win em all. Meh!

this is one of those stupid humor comedies. stiller and black save the movie from being a bomb and turn it into a decent movie.

A somewhat humorous filma bout a man who rejects being his friends partner when he invents the successful vaPOOrize. Stiller and Black seem as though they would have made a bit more comical team however it was sufficient.

Ben Stiller and Jack Black, for all of their comic capabilities, fail to add anything to this story. This movie is truly weighed down by the awful directing of Barry Levinson. The directing is just ugly.

Horrible. I'm not really sure when Barry Levinson forgot how to shoot a movie, but this is some of the most awkward photography I've seen in a film. Additionally the jokes are all stupid and even Walken sucks.

Funny enough. Jack Black and Ben Stiller actually work alright together. Don't expect anything beyond a comfortable watch.

Ben Stiller is the best he's ever been here (there's a scene near the end where he erupts in an wonderfully angsty, neurotic monologue), but Jack Black is curiously subdued (though Christopher Walken makes up for him and more in a truly hilarious role). I really can't recommend this movie, but if you're in a silly mood, a fan of Larry David, or both, it may be worth a rental.

Suspiciously traction-less comedy. $80 million budget- spent on what? Has an amiable tone, which, along with Walken, helps this go down painlessly. Only for Stiller/Black completists

A great comedy. With Ben Stiller, you either hate or enjoy. Jack Black is a perfect contrast to Stiller's nihilistic humour. There are some great jokes in this film, even if most of them are crude and simple.

For me, Ben Stiller and Jack Black only work in supporting roles; movies they star in tend to be way off the mark, and this doubly so.

Granted, it's a silly movie, but it wasn't as bad as it's "supposed" to be. I saw it before I even read any reviews online, and when I did read some, I was surprised at the level of intolerance (!?) people have for this little film. I don't particularly like Ben Stiller, I make it a point to avoid his films, and Jack Black can be annoying, but hey, this one worked for me - perhaps because Stiller's performance was subdued. A HUGE plus: Christopher Walken. He improves any movie he's in.

If you were going to see a Jack Black film with true Jack Blackidiness this is not the one. This is more of a Ben Stiller film. Quirky, humourous and down right stupid sometimes. The message is important and I will put over 50 for it truly having a moral to it. In the end it is just a run of the mill movie starring Ben Stiller, some people love him, some can't stand him, then their is me if he has a great supporting cast he can be magnificent. Unfortunately, Jack Black couldn't do it alone.

The plot here is about as brief and light as you can get within a feature-length film (there's not even the expected friendship fall-out near the end), but it's appreciably silly: Black's oblivious optimist and Stiller's straight guy are a good pair; Walken's long-haired oddball, "J-Man", is a riot; and the main premise is ridiculous enough to feel self-aware. Black's infomercials and Stiller's dead horse troubles are two highlights in this appetizer-sized but funny enough comedy.

Unfortunately this is a grade A talent bomb. With an amazingly talented cast of Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Rachel Weisz, Amy Poehler, and Christopher Walken in what feels like a premise out of an 80's sitcom the movie is largely disappointing in all areas. However, still far worse ways to fill up a few hours on a lazy Sunday.

its a great story of maraility. im just happy it ended well as it really resonates. one of my mates is a straight up millionare and we have competetions but he never uses his money available. even took on student debt instead of from parents because he wants to earn it. sure like a car he can use for free but that stuff is understandable. but he defo does not spoil himself. great friend for like 6 years going

Strange that Levinson, a normally reliable film-maker, is capable of dropping some inexplicable bombs like this one from time to time – it may be that the fault lies more with the screenplay here, which establishes a too low-key tension between Stiller and Black, seems to realise it's run out of material and shifts to overly elaborate, wound-down farcical situations which never take grip due to the leaden direction. Sole bright spot is Walken’s bizarre but amusing supporting bit.
