Summary: When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it's the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. Can Eragon take up the mantle of the legendary Dragon Riders? Standard plot, sub-par acting, corny/cliched lines. You can see some influences, but it seemed like it borrowed all the wrong parts from things like LotR and Star Wars.

Written by a teenager (and it shows), Eragon presents nothing new to the "hero's journey" story archetype. In movie terms, this movie looks and sounds like Lord of the Rings and plays out like a bad Star Wars rip-off. The movie spins the tale of a peasant boy who is suddenly entrusted with a dragon and must, with the help of a mentor, train, grow strong, and defeat an evil emperor. The way the critics picture it, the makers of Eragon should soon be expecting an annoyed phone call from Lucas.

A total ripoff of Star Wars and/or Lord Of The Rings, and the ending is complete crap designed to set up an inevitable sequel. The effects are decent and the action's not terrible, though.

It is Star Wars in Lord of the Rings clothing, with a dash of Dragonheart. Only not as good as any of those three movies. Although somehow the movie's so enthusiastic about its cliche'd tripe that it's quite hard to hate it.

Awful British Lord of the Rings knock-off. Special effects are garbage, story is garbage, acting is garbage, script is garbage, action is garbage, music is garbage, garbage garbage garbage. Can't remember the last time I was this bored in a movie. What a piece of shit. And speaking of shit, watching a hippopotamus lay an enormous turd at the zoo would be more entertaining than watching Eragon. One of the worst movies I've ever seen.
