Summary: An international team of climbers ascends Mt. Everest in the spring of 1996. The film depicts their lengthy preparations for the climb, their trek to the summit, and their successful return to Base Camp. I have seen this three times now in IMAX and would see it again and again. The closest you can get to climbing the mountain without having to wear a hat! The action is real (forget Vertical Limit and it's like). In IMAX you will get vertigo (and quite probably hypothermia!). If you have even a passing interest in the mountains watch this.

One of them fancy pants IMAX movies. It felt like I was there...except I was sitting down the whole time and the room temperature was quite mild.

Like so many IMAX pictures and other "special" films of this sort, this is basically great visuals looking for a proper vehicle. Those massive, crystal-clear images *are* awfully nice, but there's not much else here
