I'm not here to tell you that Everly is a must-watch movie, but if you're looking for a female-led Die Hard that takes a gleeful approach to violence, then it might be worth seeing. Salma Hayek handles the action like a veteran, keeping the emotion and intensity high throughout, and the over-the-top gore and silly characters keeps things fresh. Everly is a lot of fun from start to finish, and if you like violent action movies set in a single location, you'll be right at home watching it.

Everly consists of a no-budget, quarter-hearted knockoff of Kill Bill and Smokin' Aces, except it celebrates its empty, nonstop violence against women. It has plenty of violence with both sexes, but the scenes of women getting injured reek of sadistic enjoyment and vindication. When your movie makes Smokin' Aces look action-packed with compelling characters--when your movie makes the viewer long to see Robert Rodriguez phone another one in in his sleep--you really need to stop and reevaluate.

Salma Hayek was smoking hot and in fit conditions. There was no story, lines were cheesy, acting was mostly mediocre and the whole thing happened inside one house, well almost in one room. Chicks with guns is not my thing, but I cannot resist Salma Hayek. Yummy!

Joe Lynch continues to deliver half-baked productions that have the logic, casual misogyny and racism of a privileged asshole 13 year old white boy.

It sounded like a fun idea to me, but the final product is just a bit too trashy and cheap for my taste. It's like a mix of The Raid and Kill Bill, but doesn't come close to reaching the skill or artistry present in those films. Hayek's never been a first-class actress, but she is very impressive here for a woman in her late 40s. The majority of the other performances are bad, unfortunately. There a few instances of fun action and gore, I guess.

Good violent shoot and cut em up. Surprisingly has more character depth than most movies of this kind despite its simplistic story.

It is sexy, it is gory, it is over the top and silly and it has decent action/executions - everything a good exploitation film should have. The sadist/masochist duo of villains feel very out-of-place and exactly why they add so much to the film - great. A very entertaining film. Did I mention that Salma Hayek is bloody hot?

It is tough to look past the misogyny in this film. I'm all for exploitation flicks, but they have to be good. There are few better looking 48 year olds, however.

Props to them for creating a bad ass & powerful center female role for Hayek - which she carries well - but this is a super-cut of other films that achieve its goals far better.

There's been like a bizillion other assissin revenge movies lately and while this one has some decently brutal stuff going on it also spends about four-fifths of it's time with Selma Hayek crying or waiting. If there's one thing that's worse than waiting, it's watching someone else wait, especially while they're crying.

Salma Hayek does a good job in the lead role. Unfortunately the script lets her down in this movie. The script needed either more wittier dialogue or more character development. A better script would have made the action scenes more memorable. Overall this film is disappointing.
