Before launching a career directing Oscar-bait crap, Forster made this film about a couple who lose their infant to SIDS. The mom (it's always the woman in these movies) goes off the deep end while her friends turn on her & her ineffectual husband becomes even more ineffectual. Forster employs all manner of extreme lighting & camera angles, arbitrarily shooting through glass, fading in & out, etc. When it's good, it's unnerving. When it's not, which is just as often, it feels like a student film
