Summary: Four sexy young girls are to clean an old house for the new owners. They get delivered an old book full of magic incantations, and while reading it they accidentally bring a cartoon character to life. The cartoon character likes the blood of young girls... (imdb)
Watched this as a kid. The idea of mixing horror with both live action and an animated character, as idiotic it sounds, might have worked...if it was thoroughly tongue-in-cheek and zany throughout. Instead, too many scenes are shot with a serious tone, creating a bizarre mishmash of moods that just doesn't work. Beyond that, it's way too slow, which might have worked in a conventional horror film, but not one that is part comedy. Some sexy female bodies, but that's about it.
Sort of like 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' meets 'Slumberparty Massacre' and featuring David Carradine, Dick Miller and PLENTY of T&A! And how come Dick Miller hasn't ever won an Oscar?
Good lookin' babes and veteran actors are equally wasted in this silly Ray trifle, which has a monster designed by ace genre critic Chas Balun. Best scene: Miller watching himself in _A Bucket of Blood_ and muttering, "How come this guy never won an Academy Award?" Indeed.
Opens with a message from Fred Olen Ray insisting that this is based on a true story. Then, a horny cartoon appears and rapes a chick to death, steals her body, and starts killing people. Some fun bad acting by everyone involved, plenty of boobage, and Carradine has a practice-run with a noose. Nice commentary track on this one as well.
