A low-key and depressing drama about a couple that never meet. Kind of runs out of steam every 10 minutes (especially at the start) then manages to revive. Considering its settings, this viewer would have enjoyed a more thorough exploration of themes of time and memory.

What an incredibly depressing film. The first act, I felt, was kind of drawn-out and tedious, but it does establish some really important points later on. I don't know if I'd say I "enjoyed" this, but I liked it. It's definitely not for everyone, hence the score, but it at least felt pretty original. Check it out if you want something different and don't mind hopeless stuff.

Easily one of the most heart-touching romances I've ever seen, and the main characters hardly see each other. Fantastic performance by Choi Min-sik (of Oldboy fame)

I can't remember another film off the top of my head where the two main characters haven't really met but the chemistry and feelings towards one another works as well as in Failan.
