Funny. A typical new-age comedy. If you don't like Seth Rogan style humor, don't watch it. Kristen Bell stole the film. Some nice cameos throughout.

This is the only spoiler I'm going to offer. The last line is said by Sam Huntington, and he asks his friends about Episode I, "What if the movie sucks?" I asked myself the same question right when I was about to watch this movie.

A noble effort at being a love letter to Star Wars fandom falls far from the mark, due to the main substance being an archetype that we've all seen before in every road trip movie since the dawn of man, and that archetype has been done far better elsewhere, with more passion. Fanboys swings robotically from average to mediocre to flat-out disappointing at the drop of a hat. There are few funny moments.

It's quite simple. If you're a fanboy you'll probably laugh throughout, even if you admit the movie's flawed in many places (as is Star Wars to be honest). If not, you'll probably hate it. Also it's good to watch with a bunch of other Star Wars geeks (or even Trek fans), to spot the quoted lines and the cameos, in order not to engage any critical facilities you possess.
