Not surprised to find out that this is one of the most expensive films in the history of Danish cinema--it looks it. Content-wise, however, it's about what'd you'd expect from a Danish movie: Mediocre.

Great. True story about two Danish resistance members during WW2 who face death and deception at every turn. This is one of the best WW2 era movies I've been fortunate enough to watch, it shows the war heroes not as bright eyed infallible heroes but as good, honest people who often doubt their own convictions. This has gorgeous cinematography, perfect direction and excellent acting. Definitely recommended.

A classic example of overreaching trying to blend action, drama and romance - and ending up coming across halfbaked and almost (and really damaging in a film about conviction and 'the good fight') halfhearted. Strong performances, solid 40s feel and really great cinematography (constantly switching it up between balanced and deliberately unbalanced shots, drawing heavily on lighting/shadows) makes it worth a watch though.

Good cinematography, mediocre story. Interesting that it portrays danish resistance heroes as psychotic killers without a cause. Otherwise unremarkable WWII thriller.

Good movie. Stories about the heroes of Europe and US during WW2 are usually good ways of spending time! Wish this one could have shown more of the intenseness that there must have been.

well, there is nothing to say special about this movie is there? Again it's just another resistance against Nazis movie except it's in Denmark. You should watch Melville's tour de force L'Armee des Ombres instead.

Many things are good with this film. The cinematography is excellent, as are most of the performances and the music. However, overall it comes across a little too dark and depressing to seriously engage most viewers. There is no real message, although the final shootout is great. A good film but not a great one.
