Even for its type, the story is silly and lazily slapped together. There are a few highlights: "The Carioca" and the finale, mainly. Other than that, I spent my time marveling at the decor.

the only people worth watching here are astaire and rogers, but unlike their later work, this doesn't either have appealing music or dancing. the story its self is boring, even at top form astaire couldn't have rescued this.

Astaire and Rogers keep this from being awful, but their brief scenes aren't enough reason to watch it.

Stellar dancing - as usual - from Rogers and Astaire, but unfortunately they're not the main characters and fail to salvage the romance equivalent of a trainwreck.
