Well, it's a good (overlong) family film that was generally a lot of fun to sit through. The cheese was surprisingly limited for a movie about the boy scouts, and there were even a couple of great scenes mixed in there. Unfortunately the first half was the better of the two; once Whitey grows up you kind of lose interest. Obviously it's nothing cinematically marvelous, but it's feel good. MacMurray was perfect for the role. P.S: Kurt Russell slaps somebody; he was a tough bastard even then.

This is a great family movie that shows how much influence one good man can have on the lives of all around him.
