Zany, fun and very creative - wuxia has never been parodied so outrageously. Even if seems to be perpetually losing the plot, the film is a raucous romp, packed with action, physical comedy, and wordplay. The human helicopter gunship scene is just one of many I will remember for a long time. You can cast your mind back across Monty Python, Leslie Nielsen, Jim Carrey, Buñuel and Chaplin and it still doesn't encompass everything Stephen Chow packs into his movies. The man is a genius.

i can tell this movie is way funnier in cantonese, but i still had a blast. fat's terrible inventions lead to some of the best visual gags ever, and the scenes with his wife and the hooker had great chemistry. on the whole i think i slightly prefer from beijing with love of his two bond spoofs (and this one barely counts), but this is worth seeing at least once.

Often funny and witty, occasionally a bit too zany. This movie has a lot of personality.
