Summary: Examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. (imdb)
The one thing we can be sure of is this: no one cares enough to switch from a diet of gluttonous indulgence to life-saving veganism until they have one foot and three genitals in the grave (see: Clinton, Bill) so the message will fall on deaf ears (the ears are deaf because they have bacon in them).
lol, vegan propaganda. Some of the research is genuinely interesting and informative, but the majority is so shady and conveniently presented that it's hard to take it seriously. Also it's kind of boring, let's pick it up a bit, yeah?
The term "animal based" is slapdash. The cases made against dairy were quite strong, against meat a bit less strong, and the arguments against other "animal based" foods were non-existent. Why am I not supposed to eat fish now? Because they swim? And eggs? There are too many appeals to emotion to trust anything said that isn't directly from a study. Still, it covers an ever important topic and when it's not busy trying to scare you with surgery footage, it's okay. Watch Food Inc. instead.
I feel weird about not rating it higher. The argument was convincing and well supported enough to change my eating habits, but I still didn't find it to be good enough as a movie to get a higher rating. It is certainly worth watching.
