First Argento flick I've seen, not bad. Nice visuals with lots of style in that way only late 60s/70s flicks can manage. Like a slightly more surreal Hitchcock, but the big reveal was too easy to guess beforehand. I guess the 40 year interlude has left movie watchers a little better able to read the clues. Still a worthwhile way to kill a couple of hours.

"Oh, you heterosexuals"...lol Typically stylish, over-the-top Argento decoction with hyper-Hitchcock touches, but a lot of fun nonetheless, and despite the fact that I solved the mystery pretty early (for once!). The PI and the mailman in particular were a hoot.

it's essentially a proto-slasher flick, but it sucks, bad writing, bad acting, bad direction. you can skip anything argento did before 1975, i'd actually propose you could forget argento all together. susperia is the best remembered of his films for a reason. but at least there's bud spencer, am i right?

I found it pretty flat for Argento. But some pretty neat and inventive kills along with creepy atmospherics give us a hint of the magic that is to come.

Argento's lost gem with all the elements that make his films great - beautiful architecture, inventive camerawork and above all a surreal, overwhelming sense of doom. A little more linear for him (although its looser and weirder than the other entries in the "animal trilogy") but immensely entertaining.

Argento gets experimental and it works! This sort of reminds me of Abel Ferrara's 'Driller Killer', only better and more exciting.
