Even though it humanizes the bombers and makes something totally unsympathetic entertaining and sympathetic, Morris doesn't let the rest of society off the hook. There are almost no good or competent people on either side, and Morris simultaneously makes fun of suicide bombers and society's reactions to them. Overall, ballsy as hell, consistently dark, and funnier than it should have been given the subject.

I was really hoping this would be good. A nice ending but there's not a lot in there.

It's a good movie, but could be better. The plot could be a little more interesting and engaging. Morris could put a lot of drama to captivate the public, however opted for exaggerated comedy, making people laugh more than thinking about the Muslim issue.

Dark comedy, farce and drama - all inclusive. Moreover, it deals with the problems contemporary world has to face.

Insanely ballsy and completely hilarious. The characters were all very well-written and acted, to the point where I was genuinely sympathetic by the end, and I love how even the white characters tend to be stupid and incompetent (the Wookie scene was one of the highlights).

Hilarious and actually quite moving. The stupidity of most of the main cast is counter balanced with the humility of Omar and the film manages to both be funny and thought provoking without ever getting too serious.

Brilliantly dark comedy that goes where few would even dare to think of. Morris simultaneously humanizes and mocks extremism via the lovable but misguided characters, creating a conflict where we want them to succeed, yet know that they shouldn't. The other side isn't let off the hook at all though, balancing and further driving home the satire. A solid effort.

Few jokes here and there but come on! This is almost better than a sleeping pill! The trailer made this look good but the movie it self just sucks.

A very brave film which is ultimately flawed.

What I learned from this film: never give a ninja turtle the Heimlich maneuver.

Extremely funny with a bleak ending, however this is absolutely rich black comedy. The ending only solidifies it.

This satirical dark comedy delivers the laughs. I can see how some people may end up displeased with the end result, but I personally found this to be a top-notch dark comedy. I'll go even further as to say this was the best comedy of 2010. Overall, everything was done extremely well, and breaks the barrier of controversy and satire.

A ripping and confrontational comedy that removes the terror from terrorism by making its protagonists berks, rather than the faceless hordes of so many post-9/11 Hollywood actioners. Side-splitting performances and a perfect script (albeit a very British one that doesn't resonate as well with people unfamiliar with Boots and mini-Babybels) help immensely.

Awfully funny. A film like this needs to be intelligent and correctly made in order to work, and Four Lions definitely succeeds.

This movie is pretty funny. Its hard to take something which is serious topic and make a comedy film out of it. Hats of to the directory for an awesome funny script. The acting by one and all is just awesome. The presentation of the film is good. Overall a good entertainer.

It's a funny movie, and between Waj's idiocy and Barry's insanity, every attempted plot ends up like a Three Stooges' movie. But what puts it above an average "idiots with a bomb" story is the honesty with which Omar's character is played. His serious scenes are a counter-balance to the dark-humored farce, and provide a small kernel of reality behind the hilarity.

One of the best comedies of the recent past decade. An absolutely hilarious film that takes a serious turn in the last act, although handling well the transition as shit gets serious. I wouldn't know if this is an accurate portrait of Jihad in the first world and british muslims but I've gotta say it does ring true, all the characters are great and there is some wonderful acting here. This is how comedies should be done nowadays.

Terrorists in cockney accents accidentally blowing themselves up. I mean, it'd be a hilarious 4 minute video, and it's just insane that they made a movie about it. Real funny movie, it's not in bad taste at all. As usual, the media attention has been generated by people who haven't seen the movie.

"Four Lions" is the bravest comedy in years. Morris mamaged to create a movie that is blacker than velvet. I loved everything about it. The actors, the situations, plot, camera.An amazing parody of todays fear, that's omnipresent in the heads of the western world! Most directors wouldn't dare to produce a movie like that. Therefore Morris deserves much respect!

A lot of people aren't going to like this despite the fact it's hilarious. These are the people who think, "There are some things you just don't make jokes about." These people are missing out on a gem of a comedy that is consistently dark and funny throughout. I was surprised by how much heart the film had as well. It humanizes the bombers in a way that I doubt will ever be attempted again in a movie. Give this movie a chance with an open mind and you should enjoy it.

It's funny at first, but Four Lions swiftly changes from a comedy to a tragedy when it sweeps back the curtain to reveal the utter vacuum of compassion that the life leads you to. And when the film reveals how dark it is, and you look at Omar and how ready he is to leave his wife and son behind, the fun seems to end because the film just becomes abjectly sad. It's oddly poignant, but it's better at that then being a comedy. Score is not a grade.
