Love love love love love Pam Grier. Some hot ladies, brutal violence, and cool cats make this a joy to watch. Not on the same level as Coffy, but definitely worth your time. Especially for Pam Grier.

Bar catfight. Blaxploitation classic. Pure fun.

Nowhere near as fun or engaging as Coffy. For a start Foxy Brown can't match the, admitedly imperfect, sleek stylings of Coffy coming off instead as a little too disco and a little too kitsch. Similarly there is nothing to match the hooker brawl in Coffy and though the plot is almost a copy-paste job of Coffy's it comes off a lot weaker here and less engaging. If it weren't for Grier being such an entertaining screen presence it probably wouldn't be worth bothering with at all but it was fine.

Coffy was better, but Foxy Brown is okay to watch as well. Girls may appreciate the ending better than guys.

Pam Grier kicks ass in this blaxploitation film. Great action, decent acting and some memorable moments add up to make this a must see for any genre fan.

Plotwise it's very similar to Coffy, although Foxy is a bit darker at times and not as entertainingly over the top. Still, it's always a treat to watch 70's Grier do her thing.

That lesbian bar-fightscene is pretty epic!

By '74, blaxploitation had developed a formula made of a few essential plot ingredients: 1) a strugglin' brotha who finds himself on the grind because he can't catch a break from 'The Man' 2) gratuitous interracial lovemaking 3) a white drug kingpin 4) bad acting & 5) a black woman who works it all out for her man without him knowing about it. Foxy Brown does all of that, but not all that well. Grier's psuedo-fame was built on this movie, but Coffey was better. Jackie Brown was best.

It's definitely no Coffy. There are a few good scenes, particularly toward the end, but the villains aren't that interesting, and there really aren't too many memorable lines. If it weren't for Pam Grier, it would be a run-of-the-mill or even slightly bad exploitation film, but her charisma definitely scores it some points (though her outfits aren't as awesome as in Coffy either).

Lots of fun. Pam Grier is the best of the badass hero chicks of exploitation cinema, she's not afraid to use her "assets" to get what she wants: revenge.

Has some charm (whenever Pam Grier is onscreen, at least), but I definitely prefer Coffy's vintage, despite Foxy Brown having a more amusing villain in Miss Katherine. The lesbian bar fight can't measure up to Coffy's hooker brawl and there's not as much nudity.

A far more campier and colourful affair than its predecessor, Foxy Brown is a more immediate and genuinely entertaining blaxploitation with kick ass action sequences, kitschy racist villains and ridiculous outfits but lacks Coffy's harsh, emotional punch.

Almost the same movie as Coffy and almost as entertaining. I could watch Pam Grier do her thing all day.

Not so cool as Coffy, but very nice anyway.
