Socialist noir that manages to be at once complicated and obvious from the start. Relies heavily on eccentric villains of all nationalities pitting them against the noble and sensible Swedish sailors. Takes a clear moral stance, obnoxious at times, on everything from prostitution and labor relations to fascism (the sailors are taken aback at the prospect of sailing to Franco's Sevilla). Worth watching if only for the very beautiful Illona Wieselmann.
