Far superior to the other Hollywood adaptation around that time. This one is straightforward, following the original novel to an absolute tee, and concentrating on the same themes of human identity, the limits of science, and the darker sides of man's nature, even in otherwise decent individuals. It's a bit heavy on the melodrama (the creature was never meant to be that sympathetic, modern interpretations be damned...), and totally unoriginal, but otherwise a very solid, decent work.

A flawed but interesting TV version of the story. Good acting and makeup, but in its attempt to bring something new to an already done-to-death premise, this tends toward confusion. In a notable performance, Mills brings distinction to the cliched role of the blind man the monster encounters in his travels.
