Summary: Two years ago the boy Jesse helped the whale Willy to jump into freedom. Jesse enjoys the life with his adoptive parents, when his half-brother Elvis arrives because the dead of their mother. During a holiday trip Jesse meets Willy again, as well as his indian friend Randolph. (imdb)

A reasonable sequel to the 1993 classic family film, but it was definitley missing the heart & soul that the first film seemed to capture much easier. It also seemed that the sequel was aimed at younger children while the first was an all-round family film. Good to see the majority of the cast back plus a few new faces are thrown in there. Storyline was a bit of a letdown with much less going on this time, but its still an enjoyable film none the less and fans of the first should be pleased.

A pretty unnecessary sequel. Anything good about the first film is absent in the second. And the first film isn't that great. I just don't care much for movies with kids bonding with animals to fight adults who are incompetent.

All the principal characters are back, except for Willy (real name Keiko), who was recuperating from a skin virus in Mexico. Animatronics and Gump-like digital effects were used to replicate the real Willy.

The original is a genuinely good film. This is a cash cow to take advantage of kids that loved the original. Sure it touches on some of th nostalgia of the first, but its not necessary.
