Havent seen "Straw Dogs" yet, so still exceptional for me. Typical Ole Bornedal thirller, storytelling.

A thinly camouflaged rework of Peckinpah's Straw Dogs, about how evil, ignorant and miserable the proletarians of rural Denmark are. As such something I should/would enjoy but its simply to poorly written, filled with two-dimensional characters who's development/personality are dictated by the cliché of a story they are caught in. Its a shame because its beautifully filmed and the actors are good...

Ole Bornedal shamelessly steals 'Straw Dogs' and makes it even dumber than the people it's trying to portray. The acting is for the most parts excellent (didn't think that much of Rimmer, although he certainly didn't ruin anything), but the script is so anti-provincial that the townsmen and the protagonist having the same skin colour is the only thing that stops you from calling it racist.
