Summary: A group of young adults discover a boarded up Camp Crystal Lake, where they soon encounter Jason Voorhees (Mears) and his deadly intentions. (imdb)
Blood, Jason's invention of teleporting in time and place, boobs (fake), more blood, darkness, 10 min sex scene, a perv who got horny by a winter catalog, boobs (real), pointless gore scenes, Jason's incredible strength and succession at throwing murder weapons to his victims, murders in the dark, running girls.. Did I say boobs?
As far as remakes and reboots go, this one was pretty okay, it works. There's a refresher on Jason's origin and some decent references to the first few movies. That said ... it's not like there were really high goals set to accomplish a good remake/reboot. It seems more like Jason is being reintroduced to the modern target audience (and giving the viewers an updated stock of target victims).
This was a very good movie. Surely, the most well known BEST actor in the movie was Jared Padalecki. He added a special thing to the film which I don't think any other actor could..well except for Jensen Ackles, Christian Kane, Jeffery Dean Morgan, or Timothy Olyphant. Hell, if this movie wanted a 91 or above it would have included all of these actors listed. That would be one manly movie. It could have been even more manly than Predator with Carl and Arnold.
A faster stronger Jason hunts down a group of young adults. The new and improved Jason also knows how to use a bow and arrow. Jason was always the machete wielding maniac who could come out of nowhere. There were a few good chuckles from Aaron Yoo and some gory deaths, but in the end was just another excuse of a film to have horny teenagers having sex and being predictably executed one by one. The faster stronger Jason did nothing to improve this movie, and neither did the young cast to be fair.
Pretty fucking boring and generic in every way, then again I never cared much for the original series. You'd think a modern remake would improve or experiment with the formula but no - just more lazy, conventional horror to add to the shitpile, filled with bland teenagers getting slaughtered one by one in fairly unimaginative ways (at least there's tits this time). No real human acts like any of the characters in this film. Zzzz. Kids, flush this turd and watch Bava's "Bay Of Blood" instead.
platnium dunes again..this time they try to re do Jason Vorhees...how much more can Jason do..he s been to hell, he fought freddy and he went to space....now he is re born and can run and is also a stalker and kidnaps people...this movie is not the movie it could have been..what about Jason vs Zombies...I think if you ignore the majority of it and concentrate on the few decent kills...you may enjoy it somewhat
The most Friday the 13th movie of them all, everything that made the series 'fun' is mashed in here. HOWEVER, The TOKEN ASIAN character almost RUINS the entire movie. I felt nothing but hate.
As it passed by me, I wondered "Why is it so hard to make a decent one of these? They have been at it for 30 years, couldn't they find a working formula?" A few cheeky moments here and there, but it is below average, especially when you consider that they can lean on a franchise with 7-8 movies.
My mind subtly picked up that the minorities (the black and asian guy) in the movie got the most gruesome and painful deaths. I don't know what that was for, and I mean it's REALLY obvious, everyone else gets a quick retard slash to the head from Jason, but these two get these slow, drawn out, torturous deaths. It's something that adds to the movie, makes me feel uncomfortable, but everything else about the movie is just bland, very generic and a hollow, unnecessary addition to the series.
