Summary: Sam Alexander (Mohanlal), a motor mechanic who runs 'Sam's Garage', meets & falls in love with Sreedevi Menon (Kanchan), daughter & heir of the affluent Meleveettil family, whom he also wished to cast in his drama production as the character 'Shakunthala'. Sreedevi's family opposes this, & aided by their family friends, IG of Police Ravindran Nair (Vijayakumar) & his son Rajkumar, who have their own plans of getting hold of the wealth of the Meleveettil family, tries to destroy the relationship.
