Neveldine/Taylor were not a good fit, and the result is that even with on paper more competent directors (at least in the style department) this somehow manages to be a worse film than the original, a film to which approximately zero people were eagerly awaiting a sequel in the first place. Cage chews up everything on screen - some of his line delivery in this is truly baffling. Elba was decent, but him and a few enjoyable moments of questionably intentional craziness can't save this wreck.

I just wanted a movie where shitty people get sent to hell by a burning skeleton. This movie offers a surprisingly low amount of that.

Pros: It's better than the first one. Ghost Rider looks cool in this, and there are parts where he goes berserk that are pretty entertaining. And the black guy's cool. Cons: Weak story, uninteresting villains, Ghost Rider pissing fire.

Oh oh oh, this is just really terrible. I do like Cage, but there is nothing much positive to say about this. Let's hope this is as low as he gets, and from now on it's just up....

It was better than I expected. Easily the most crisp CGI I've seen in a theater. I was mesmerized by his jacket at times. That doesn't say much about the movie and I don't intend it to, but it's far sharper than Avatar, and that says something.

Cage rocks, but everything else is pretty bad. The action's dark, shaky and hard to see, and there's no reason to care about the plot. It's a modern B-movie.

The only positive is that Marvel's newfound focus on Ghost Rider got him in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Oh wait, he's a one dimensional play style that is beaten by anyone who can jump. Man, fuck this movie.

There isn't an original thought 4 miles. 2 call the characters generic bottom-shelf copies would be an understatement. Wrestlers put more thought in2 their badguy personas than the writers put in2 the villains here. The dialogue is equally flat & uninteresting. The only discernible effort on display r failed attempts 2 capture Evil Dead 2-style humor & the stellar CGI, which the director so fetishizes that he even brings the ham-fisted action 2 a halt 4 extended close ups of GR's flaming skull.

Not a worthy sequel to the original instalment. The movie is cartoonish and the coolness character of Ghost Rider has been horribly messed around with. The plot too is a little complicated.

Against my better judgement I started to get somewhat excited for this. I assumed the guys who directed Crank would make it as ridiculous as it needed to be, and I do have a large affinity for Nicolas Cage. I was quick to find out they spend more time on a dull story full of idiotic moments instead of filling it with absurd amounts of action. The lone bright spot is Idris Elba, who plays a french priest who loves wine pretty entertainingly.

Ok, it's easy to say lousy things about GRSV, but this is the kind of campy and mad superhero flick I would like to see more often: the cameras are put on the ground, following this former angel riding through eastern european landscapes, setting everything that he touches on fire with bright flames of self-irony. Neveldine/Taylor can't do much with a movie that is meant to be watched by kids and fans, but they actually achieve nice results. The Wish You Were Here homage was beautiful.

In its finest moments, GHOST RIDER: SoV is a crazed thrillride; the Rider's urine-stream of fire, Ciaran Hinds' enjoyably hammy performance, the welcome presence of Idris Elba, and some choice bits of fiery mayhem. It's not consistently crazy enough, though, and it lags in spots; Nicolas Cage does some of his worst phoning-it-in, and the script is a total mess, not helped by some fairly wretched directing and editing. Still, as crash-bang entertainment goes, you could do a good deal worse.

Well...damn. The first one was junky fun. This one's just junky. It threw me off from the first scenes, and I was never able to get comfortably back on board--it's just such an oddly arrhythmic, haphazard, everything-but-the-kitchen sink kind of mess. I don't know if Neveldine & Taylor were trying too hard, or were too aggressively hamstrung by the PG-13 rating, or if the unnecessary 3D sucked the life out of it, or what, but it just sorta sits there. Elba's good, though.

With everything considered, I definitely think I enjoyed this far more than I should've. It's mindless and trashy, but Nicholas Cage's laughably horrendous performance makes it become the RIGHT kind of mindless and trashy. Also, it has Stringer Bell in it; which is always a plus.

For as batshit crazy as it could have been given the people involved, it surprisingly just goes through the motions for the most part. Cage and the filmmakers get a few scenes to let loose and be over the top, but there aren't quite enough to balance out the boring, paint-by-numbers emotional arc and the result is an uneven tone. More crazy please!

One of the only pleasures I get in this world is watching Nic Cage act crazy. And he does not disappoint here. This movie is silly, campy, cheesy and occasionally dark, and it's better for it. It's batshit insane. While some things were wonky, I mostly had a good time here. It was fun and mindless with cool action.
