Summary: In a remote region of the Bering Sea, a salvage crew discovers the eerie remains of a grand passenger liner lost for more than 40 years. Once onboard, the crew must uncover the truth about the ship's past and unlock the mystery that threatens their very survival. (Warner Bros.)
Hilarious comedy about naval scavengers finding a haunted ship. Forget everything you know about reality and dive into this piece of shit with bowls blazing.
"Not only is the film's boo-yah opening sequence derivative of Beck's 13 Ghosts, so are all the music video tableau morts and cheesy one-liners." - Ed Gonzalez
I hate this production company for their horrible, horrible scripts. Thin plot, hackneyed plot devices... that scene where the pole breaks is pretty sick though
Word of advice: If you walk out right when you see someone floating in the ocean with a suitcase, what you will have on your hands is a perfectly respectable horror offering worth seeing for the Halloween season once "The Ring" has already been viewed. Sit through the last minute, and leave with a bitter taste in your mouth. This movie is so solidly made for so long that the viewer must question how anyone could have thought the chosen conclusion was a good idea.
There are some brutal and somewhat creative deaths for masochists (particularly the cable scene), but anyone looking for an interesting story or unique conclusion need not apply. There's nothing that appeals to any sense other than primal fear and sexual perversion, no real moments of psychological suspense; just recycled 'shock scenes' set to industrial rock music meant to make you jump out of your seat. I'm not a fan of horror/slasher films, so you can take my review with a grain of salt.
The singer, whoever she is, is beautiful and naked. Oh yeah, the ship is haunted. Would have scored higher if Julianna Margulies would have donned a wet, white t-shirt
