Understated, quirky and entertaining coming of age type movie. Recommeded.

"If he's so weird, why is he wearing Nikes?"

Aside from some poor directions the story takes in the second half, it's very good. There's a very naturalistic sense about its style, as it never really feels too artificial or "movie-like" until a few points late in the film. Maybe a bit too self-aware at times, but I enjoyed it. I'll have to check out the comic someday.

I just don't get the praise. Just because they're geeks/loners shouldn't mean you auto relate. Starts off rather witty but not much unfolds from there. You just feel like there was wasted potential.

or Catcher in the Rye: The Movie

I was blown away with this movie; up until I watched this, all of my favorite movies were basically just collections of explosions, gunfights, and badass one-liners. Watching this was like an epiphany to me, like my own coming-of-age.

I just found this deeply irritating rather than quirky. You may feel differently

buscemi and johnannson were great, but birch's character was too hateable and unfortunately the film didn't really go anywhere.

I like movies set in mediocre cities.

Found this movie very unique and inspiring, many parts of it remind me of myself.

Really captures the limbo between the end of childhood and the start of adulthood.
