Better than the first in my opinion and it honestly features the most gruesome and inventive death in any horror movie I have ever seen. The style, editing and soundtrack blend together perfectly to set the mood for the film, while it still retains the dark humor of the first. This is one of the best horror movies ever made.

Meh. Has a couple good moments, The music is awful!

Far better than it has any right to be. Captures the essence of lycanthropy's horror (forced change) and has a great setup for the finale.

Better direction+ use of tension, less cliches+ deovid of cheesy moments while keeping the humor+ subtext focused on addiction+ no crampy neoliberal mother = smartly improved upon the 1st.

Ginger craps.

Even though "Unleashed" is the worst of the trilogy, majorly suffering from the criminal lack of the enchanting Isabelle and feeling very much like a cash in, it still manages to be so much more than your average B-movie. Replacing the campy humor and metaphors of the first film with tension, atmosphere and character development, "Unleashed" is essential viewing for not just fans of the series, but horror fans in general.

"Where did it come from? The infinite darkness?" "I don't think so... more likely the suburbs." Keeps the snappy dialogue and the teen angst of the first film, whilst quietly ditching the tortured menstruation metaphor. The introduction of the Ghost character was inspired - she had some very funny moments - although on the other hand, it could have done without the reappearance of Ginger. Overall, a very entertaining sequel.

Unusual but very good sequal.

A surprisingly entertaining movie which does not tumble into unecessary clichés. Enough twists to keep one amused. One of the best horror movies ever made.

It's not really bad per se, but I generally find it hard to enjoy films where every character besides the protagonist is either a smug sexist dickwad or an annoying loony little brat. Even if that's supposed to kind of be the point. Emily Perkins is love.

Even stranger then the first one

It's not that the first movie did not have a good idea with menstruation, but the director messed up totally. He spoiled everything with cliché after cliché scenes and the character directing was a drag. Here in a sequel monster effects are still horrible rubber masks, but the new director managed to build up a decent horror flick. And the most irritating character (Tatiana Maslany) turned out to be the very good actress in the end.
