Yecch! When John Harkness talked about how some Fellini films are basically just "Fellini jacking off", he was talking about movies like this. A whole lot of time is spent on lewd Italian commercials, and at least ten minutes is wasted on a gay cross-dressing male who does sexual favors for prison inmates. "Art film"? HA! You don't walk out of a film like this, you out and out FLEE

Reviewing: Beautiful performance between Giulietta and Marcello, and strong critic against television. With rich details Ginger e Fred was Fellini's farewell for big cinema.

There are a lot of strange people in this movie. But it never loses focus on the two main characters and their feelings.
