Summary: Set over a 24-hour period in L.A. and Las Vegas, this unconventionally structured comedy is told from the decidedly off-center perspectives of three parties involved in the outrageous events that surround a botched drug deal. (Columbia TriStar)
Mildly amusing sometimes, but it's so obviously a Tarantino knockoff that it almost becomes difficult to take seriously. Outside of a small handful of interesting scenes, there's just not much reason for me to watch this when Pulp Fiction is sitting a few feet away on my DVD shelf.
While the plot isn't dxactly inspiring or unique it certainly keeps you engaged. It's face paced and fresh and that's enough for what it's trying to accomplish. A good way to spend 2 hours.
Energized, well cast, and cleverly contrived, this paean to a what-the-hell lifestyle is geared to appeal to like-minded young people. Too much like a junior _Pulp Fiction_.
Fun and frantic Tarantino for teens, with likable actors and a decent script. Best on its first viewing, a decade on it's lost a little something, but still worth a watch on a quiet night. Snazzy soundtrack too.
First off let me start by saying that I'm not a big dance music fan or anything. This isn't an issue. While the central plot, or at least one of them, revolves around a rave and some e, this film isn't full of pill heads and thumping beats, although there is some dance on the soundtrack. Quite a bit actually. But it was made in 99 and there was some good tunes then.
ANYWAY the film. Well technically it 3 and a half films. The first is that blonde girls story, the second is the English guys
This story is pretty mixed sallad: the opening story is pretty good, the backbone of the film. Sammy's story in Vegas is the worst and the movie could survive without it. The actor couple was nice though in the end looses it's touch. The epilogue collects the loose ends nicely, but sleezy end I did not like. Oh, the police home dinner was mostly nice with hot Jane Krakowski.
