Not much going for this one. It's boring and doesn't really have the same feel of devastation and such from Gojira.

A severely mediocre script and an overbearing voiceover in the English version sink Godzilla's second entry, and reduce a character who started out in one of the most powerful sci-fi films of the 50s into another B-movie beast. Not awful, but not particularly noteworthy. While he never reached the heights of his first film, at least the Godzilla films to follow after this were fun to watch.

I doubt there's a Godzilla movie duller than this. The fact that he's instantly reduced from a terrifying analogy for nuclear weapons to another B-monster in the space of one film doesn't help, nor does the droning Ed Wood-esque narration.

Nothing remarkable here by any means. Not even so bad its good type fun. A damn shame. A damn, dirty shame.

Toho's second Godzilla movie is also one of the least interesting. Weak effects and heavy-handed "dramatic" subplots abound.
