Summary: Ramprasad (Amol Palekar) is a recent college graduate who finds a job with Bhavani Shankar (Utpal Dutt), who believes that a man without a mustache is a man without a character. When Ramprasad is caught by his boss at a soccer match, he has to invent a twin brother, the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad, to save his job. When Bhavani's daughter falls in love with the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad, and insists on marrying him, and Bhavani insists she should marry Ramprasad, things take a whacky turn. (imdb)

One of the all time best comedy movie from bollywood. This movie is a class in itself, the acting of both Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt is just perfect. You keep laughing right through out the movie. The story line is simple but is transformed into an amazingly hilarious script. Movie to be watched by one and all not just once but a few times.

It's probably better than I'm rating it, because it's a screwball comedy and subtitles play merry hell with the timing of a thing like this.

One of my all-time favorite comedy movies. While anything from Hrishikesh Mukherjee is a treat for the soul, this movie in particular is pure solid gold, only fully appreciated with a good knowledge of the Hindi language - subtitles doesn't do this movie any justice. The humor in this movie is class, with Utpal Dutt delivering perhaps the performance of his life-time.
