I barely knew a thing about Phyllis Diller when I walked into one of the rare theatrical screenings of this movie; it was one of the few interesting-looking pictures on in a slow week. Folks of my generation usually find comedians of Diller's generation to be old hat, but I am surprised at myself at how much I enjoyed this. The story of her rise in show biz was interesting, seeing the culmination in her very last show before retirement, and the old lady is actually funny
