Ray's most surreal work. Not the whole film, but the scene where Goopy and Bagha meet the King of Ghosts is a "what the fuck?" moment right up there with the drunk scene in Dumbo. As for the rest of the film, it's not especially sophisticated, but you can't expect much from a fairy tale. It is entertaining, mostly due to the charisma of its two leads. Also, Ray's music in this one is excellent.
