This Irish sci-fi/horror/comedy is a fun little monster movie, and makes for a decent watch for genre fans. However, although the premise, locale, and characters make for an interesting creature-feature, something about the whole thing is a little underwhelming. Maybe it's the predictable story beats, the romantic subplot, or some combination of things, but despite wanting to love it, I only can like it. Still, it's definitely worth checking out if it sounds fun to you.

Good ol' horror comedy in the Shaun Of The Dead/Attack The Block mold. The bad news is that a small Irish fishing community is attacked by tentacle monsters from outer space who kill everything in sight. The good news is that they're allergic to alcohol and won't eat you if you get really, really drunk. I said that it's an Irish film, right? Basically feels like a cheerful send-up of every Irish pub scene in advertising history, with monsters, and some pretty good comic timing. Fun.

Is an Irish-made movie in which all the Irish actors do nothing but drink all day and night (1) less racist, (2) more racist, or (3) as racist as a Chinese-made movie in which all the Chinese actors are pulling at the corners of their eyes and singing "we are Siamese if you please?" The correct answer is (4) I am racist for even thinking that. Partial credit given for both (5) I am racist for writing that in a Critiker review and (6) Maybe I should just stop now and go on to the next review.

A lot of fun in this new Tremors movie. Oh wait, it's not Tremors it's the new Slither movie. No, wait, it's Shaun of the Dead 2. Now you know all of the movies this takes deliberate inspiration from and combines them all into a fantastically funny "horror" film. The creature design is great, all the actors ham it up like crazy and once the movie gets going there's a ton of extremely funny scenes.

Fun story where the only way to survive...is to drink. Hilarious script, likeable characters that are more intelligent when drunk to the nth degree than your average horror movie character, beautiful location shots and entertaining lovecraftian deep sea style monster designs. Not a massive amount of horror or gore but it's a really fun watch especially with friends, great for those who like stuff like Shaun of the Dead.

Exactly as silly as you'd expect it to be and not an ounce more. I wanted it to be more, but I can't really fault it either. This is a movie where the Irish fight alien tentacle monsters by getting drunk. It's also 80s as fuck.

A very fun film, full of likable characters and a cool monster. Similar in a lots of ways to Tremors.

Great comedy monster movie drawing on the personality of Ireland. The effects can be a bit Syfy movie but a bit higher standard most of the time. Draws on the vibe of Critters and Gremlins, while also channeling a bit of Shaun of the Dead. While it doesn't quite land as well as though films it's bloody good craic.

The first half hour is incredibly dull, but the rest makes up for it. Surprisingly well made, and increasingly enjoyable the longer you stick with it. Bradley is too adorable for her own good and is a surprisingly convincing drunk. The romantic side of this worked better than any film like it I've seen since Shaun of the Dead.

Starts out pretty weak but the longer it goes on, the more heart it reveals and the more fun it gets. The love sidestory actually made the movie better (who would've thought?), and drunk Ruth Bradley is the cutest thing ever. Solid fun overall.

It's a good monster flick of the not-so-serious variety, these types can always find a friend in me, add in a bunch of drunken Irishmen and it sounds like a recipe for success and it honestly wasn't bad, it just wasn't really good either. You might chuckle a little here and there, probably won't get bored, but you might forget you watched it in a week or two.

I thought this was really good. Not many films capture the small town life as well as this one.

Pretty harmless. It doesn't particularly work as either a horror or a comedy but it's a reasonably enjoyable experience when watched with friends accompanied by copious amounts of alcohol. The idea of getting wasted so as to not get eaten by CGI squids is pretty original and the scene in the pub where they all collect weapons made me lol.

Way to learn Irish accent? You learn English first and then get really drunk. Ok, it's looks like Irish Shaun of the Dead wannabe, but it fails a bit. Amazingly, acting drunk isn't so realistic to be really believing. yet it's fun to watch, probably even more if you're drunk.

What a lark, this is the Irish craic meeting alien invaders where the only solution turns out to be a jolly drunk party in a pub. To write a script like that is close to genius.

A fun horror comedy set in Ireland. I enjoyed the monster and the conceit of the plot. The two leads are both charming and fun but their romance or whatever was quite ludicrous and tacked on.

"We'll have to do shots. We'll have to really rip the arse out of it". Drunk Irish people are always good for a laugh, and this is a good-natured giggle, with a great premise, a likeable cast and a pretty cool monster. An uncredited star of the show is the stunning scenery.

Things don't pick up until Paddy gets attacked; after that point the movie goes from check minus to check plus, but ultimately ends up with just a check. It gets annoying how almost every male character flirts at Lisa, and her ending up with Ciarán was pretty forced. The regular humor is fantastic, but the drunk humor is hit/miss. Overall, a really funny (albeit Irish stereotype reinforcing) concept with some really funny dialogue bogged down by horror cliche after horror cliche.

Good FX. The story takes in a cute town. The scenery is beautiful as contrast to the monster. It is a light comedy which I enjoyed.

Grabbers has an amusing premise but a banal plot that makes it a mediocre watch at best. The creature design is good, as is Ruth Bradley's performance, but the film offers nothing but clichés and annoying accents. Though maybe it's better if you first get into the spirit(s).

This is a fun horror film. The film is set in Ireland and it has an original and fun premise. Most of the characters are fun and there are some funny moments. I would recommend this movie.

Basically a really cool and somewhat unconventional romantic comedy taking place during a little alien invasion. Which would be one of the more unconventional romcom ingredients. Not that much here for the horror fan, though, this one's really more about the romance. Which, fortunately, was the best part of the movie. Looked kind of like an amateur production, I mean, the action...the cinematography was just not that great. :/ But Ruth Bradley gave a great performance.

Funny idea but unfortunately the execution is not that hot. Script is barely adequate and the jokes should have been raunchier. The few FX shots are scattered quite wisely and get the job done but otherwise this is nowhere close to the other (Edgar) Wright's Shaun of the Dead or The World's End which this tries to emulate.
