Summary: Lance Preston and the crew of "Grave Encounters", a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years. All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. (imdb)

Really enjoyed this until the final few minutes in which the filmmakers just threw something together as a final scare. Oh well, one of the better found footage films.

Very fun film, the opening segments mercilessly spoof shows like Ghost Hunters and Paranormal state and the little bit of humour makes you care a litle about what happens to the characters. It's an above average found footage film, good location, well paced with subtle events early on that the keen eyed can pick up on before it all kicks off.

Could've been better in a lot of ways, but the end result definitely worked for me. The premise is decent, the location is excellent and there's a lot of cringe-inducing moments where you expect something freaky to happen. There aren't thát many scares and the buildup takes a while, but all in all it was more hit than miss.
