On paper, this story sounds hilarious, but GBP ends up carefully treading a line just below where it should be. Not quite dark enough nor funny enough nor romantic enough to be considered a "dark romantic comedy", it falls into a nameless genre of its own. I got no laughs out of it, I thought the romance was very superficial, and the film seemed to grind to a halt at the reunion. At least John Cusack was pretty charismatic.

Don't remember it well enough, but I think this is a pretty accurate rating.

This movie is great. I love John Cusack. I love the great music. I love hitmen. This is all of those things.

I like Cusack in just about anything.

Well performed, involving crime comedy. One or two really great scenes and Cusack is excellent. Enjoyed Aykroyd too.

Modern classic for sure. Cusack does gallows humor better then anyone you know. It's the movie that made you love Minnie Driver and laugh at a Dan Aykroyd as an actor again and not just as a failing human being.

Popcorn! Just a good little dark comedy with some action to pass the time.

Kinda odd, but quite enjoyable movie.

Not really funny in a making you laugh kind of way but still quite amusing. Good acting and script. I was only bothered a bit by Aykroyd and a bit more by the bad action scenes.

An elegant thriller. Clean efficient plotting plus a lot of charater and atmosphere. The two Cusacks are wonderful together.

G.P.B. is an entertaining flick that I must admit, shocked me. I had never sat down and watched it because I'm not a fan of John Cusack. I found him to be enjoyable and subdued which was fitting for the role of the burned out assassin. Dan Akroyd provided a likeable badguy which I always love. Alan Arkin was awesome and Jeremy Piven was Jeremy Piven! The movie initially starts slow but really picks up when he returns home. G.P.B. also has one of the best soundtracks I have heard in years!
