Typical WWII propaganda film. The opening scene was great, exhibiting the racist hate the American troops had for the Japs and hearing the motivations of individual soldiers was quite entertaining... but then it just bogs down to boring WWII melodrama and pretty much goes full frontal in its own patriotic propaganda nature that it's actually rather laughable. As a film, it's not very good. But as a piece of WWII propaganda, quite good.

One of those U.S. WW2 propaganda movies that's primarily interesting because it practically seethes with hatred for the Japanese. Our propaganda machines never play the race card like this anymore
