there aren't a whole lot of western/comedy crossovers out there, and I doubt there are many that are quite as funny as this one. Gunless is charming, full of chuckles, and a downright fun watch.

Paul Gross is marvelous as the fish out of water gunslinger on the run in Canada. Sienna Guillory is cute and beautiful as the widowed homesteader. I really enjoyed the easygoing humor and charismatic performances from all involved. Smart writing, good music and video.

Gunless isn't a staple of Canadian cinema or a flat out must see Canadian film. At parts the lags and stutters, failing to deliver laughs or a sense that the plot is moving forward at an acceptable speed. However there are more than enough laughs to entertain someone and the general concept does make for an enjoyable film. Certainly the depiction of Canada in the time of the "Old West" is a bit too idyllic but this film can be viewed as a Canadian's modern view of how we act today.

This is a well made humour filled western. Paul Gross is excellent in the lead role as The Montana Kid. If you are looking for a funny Western then definitely check this movie out.

Nothing happens at all in this, nothing. I was so bored.

Wasn't bust-a-gut funny. Wasn't action packed. However, it was entertaining in a quaint sort of way.

Rather funny and I thought it was worth watching at least one and a half times! :-)

Gunless is a funny Canadian Western that will make you laugh if you enjoy the subversion of Western tropes or Canadian humor. It has some very minimalistic approaches to its setting, some solid costumes, and enough humor to make it go by in a breeze, even if it does feel anticlimactic in its main story. It takes the understood rules of the Wild West and flips them on their head. It doesn't have great acting, but it doesn't really need to, either. It sets a modest goal and achieves it.

The last time I watched the most fun films, western, comedy and even a bit of a romantic comedy, we can say there.

(Rewatch: funnier the 2nd time around. Must not have paid attention initially. Mountie got shafted.) That was an interesting laid-back comedy Western. The Chinese played a huge role, surprisingly. Fav scene: inspecting the gun that didn't fire and then causing a similar wound to one earlier in the film.

Would be better with diffrent lead. Gross is good actor but somehow miscast here.
