a pretty terrible sequel just as bad as the one before, except the ending here has no saving graces, and on top of that the director took a different approach than the previous installment would have you think--which should have totally mixed the franchise up and made it fresh again. but instead they opted for the status quo, which happens to suck, bad.

Darker and more atmospheric than its immediate predecessor, with a dynamite credits sequence of a glittering knife loudly carving up a pumpkin, but also kinda mean-spirited. The nominal female lead is heartlessly killed off early on in a _Psycho_-inspired twist while Michael savagely chops up peripheral characters and the little girl cries and suffers and runs for what seems like an eternity. And the pointless, inconclusive ending hinting at a possible Part 6 is a real bummer.

At least the other (canonical) sequels made an attempt to emulate Carpenter's direction and composition; this looks like some made-for-cable pile of ass. The characterization is so bad that even Loomis is unlikeable and psychotic. How many more do I have left now? Jesus.

What should we do with this classic horror movie? I know, exploit the fuck out of it with shitty sequels.

An excruciating viewing experience, combining all the boring clichés of the slasher sub-genre, and horror, a tedious pace and a complete lack of anything interesting within it. The sixth film would take six years to be made after this - how bad the fifth was may have been responsible. In this case film viewers may have found its terribleness too much to pay a cinema ticket for.

this whitish, spiralling shoot of zit-pus is a classic example of a.) a film you couldn't give a flying turtle's fuck about but figured fuck it you'd rate it anyway, and b.) the product of entrapment with company you sure don't wanna be around (but out of social necessity HAVE to) and politely sit through the entire thing. The WHOLE fucking thing. The company, meanwhile, is REALLY on your shitlist now. Nothing like a good 80's film to bring back warm memories.

You know when a horror film is bad when every 2 seconds there are girls screaming. The bit in the forest is extremely annoying cos of that.

How did Halloween 5 come out a full 20 years before Halloween II? Somebody in marketing really screwed up!

Everyone had given up on the franchise by this point...and it shows. Not an original thought anywhere in sight except for the "twist" ending that was followed up in the next movie in the series...a development that was so lame and so contrary to what was great about the origins of the series that they really should have just left it as a cliffhanger and left the franchise for dead until enough time had passed for a reboot (if they absolutely HAD to do one...which they didn't).

The series plods on in the same vein as Part 4 with some strange plot advancement which is seemingly discarded in later installments. Not hard to watch by any means, but another stutter backwards for the series.

I own this movie on DVD. Kill me.

By far the best thing about this movie is Ellie Cornell getting naked.
