Hanezu

Quiet, pensive drama is a mix of Malick (with epic abstractions of nature) and Cassavetes (shaky-cam close-ups of conversations), without the obscure nature of the former, or the fraught tension of the latter. Creating its own hybrid style to tell what is ultimately a familiar love triangle, the film is still distinguished by the close, loving attention it pays to its protagonists day-to-day lives - Komizu and Ohshima are superb as the lovers, and Akikawa is no less impressive as the cuckold.

I love the last 30 minutes, when the fantasy-romance finally meets its mythical origins and assumes the shape of a thriller, but the first hour is quite irregular and tiresome.

Bu karmasik anlatimin arkasindaki huzuru, kabullenilmisligi ve bu duygularin aciga cikardigi derin, dogal huznu sevdim. Ama filmde nefret ettigim bir cok sahne ve an da vardi. Yonetmenin onceki islerinin daha iyi oldugu soyleniyor, izleyecegim.
