I thought this movie was great. Hanna is a wild child, raised in isolation by her father, deep in the woods near the Arctic Circle. Her education? Survival. Fighting. Assassination. She can gut a moose and kick your ass. And once she's out in the world, it turns out everyone is after her. Seriously, this movie is so much fun -- it's a spy thriller, it's science fiction, it's coming of age - you can%u2019t take anything in it seriously, but it%u2019ll still pull you in and have you rootin

The fact that the protagonist was a young girl probably made this movie feel slightly more interesting. It's a cool premise to begin with, but adding the female element (including the fact that the main antagonist is also female) makes it feel like an even more genuine experience. Highly enjoyable action film that deserves to be seen.

Kind of a null movie, but the escape scene was pretty cool and the ending was a perhaps cheap but nonetheless interesting way to conclude the story as to not let the viewer deserted. Also, the soundtrack was hip.

hanna enters in a flash of glory; a trailblazing, uninhibited piece of tumultuous pop-art genius, which expands brightly and holds steady for almost a miraculous hour, then slowly deflates and gives way to its hackneyed, unavoidable roots of genre.

"I just missed your heart." Indeed, dear Hanna. Though the action is thrilling, it's difficult to find yourself cheering for the protagonist, aside from the fact that she's a young girl who's never had the opportunity to experience anything of the outside world. The villains, especially Cate Blanchett's campy, OTT govt. agent with an accent that oozes like molasses, are like D-grade Bond rip-offs. The fairytale parallels start out charming then are beaten over the viewer's head.

A better than average thriller done as a modern day telling of a fairytale, complete with woodsmen and big bad wolves. Could have done without the music video-ish parts, but that's just me.

Teenage girl is trained by her ex-CIA father to become a perfect killing machine, and then she's let loose to fend for herself in a world she's never had to live in... slightly predictable but incredibly well-acted (watch out for Saorsie Ronan), looks really good, and doesn't shy away from bad things happening to good people. Best new action flick I've seen all year.

15 years ago, an action thriller about a teenage assassin girl with a Chemical Brothers soundtrack would have been X-TREME 90s tripe. But the attention to detail, the beautiful cinematography, the symbolic choices in characterization and location, and the self-awareness that's emerged in cinema in general in that time makes for a much better film, a subtle comment on other assassin-out-of-water films like Taken, The Professional, the Bourne Movies, Mission: Impossible, and Ronin.

'Hanna' aspires to be more than the typical indestructible super-assassin thriller by making its killer a mid-teen girl. Do you buy it? I did to a point. However, I never bought the chase, nor the forgettable arsenal of villains (aside from Cate Blanchett). There's some fun, stylish direction from Joe Wright. However, 'Hanna' devolves into something more generic than it realizes.

Quite a bit of fun, this one. The soundtrack by The Chemical Brothers, the minimalist set design and costuming, and the fact that the action star is an expressive teenage girl played by Saoirse Ronan give a lot of the scenes (especially the foot chases) the feel of a music video. The reason I wouldn't rate this movie higher, though, is the story - while I enjoy its simplicity the big twist is too easy to guess and too common in films over the past few decades.

Would get a much higher rating if the movie acknowledged that Hanna, being a highly skilled killer with no contact with the world until she was 16, is a unpredictable monster. Or was the scene where she performs a takedown on a guy that was about to kiss her more fish out of water comedy? Despite Cate Blanchett's overstated performance, it took me most of the movie to understand she was supposed to be the evil one. Especially when Hanna told them where she was and killed a defenseless agent.

"Hanna" has a massively enjoyable mish-mash of styles, and I loved the soundtrack. I suppose if you're being critical, the plot is very simple, but the action and strength of the direction is more than strong enough to paper over the cracks. It's just an awful lot of fun and I'm a sucker for a revenge flick. I also enjoyed Bana's excellent Schwarzenegger voice impression that he seemed to be doing and it's true... we do like a kettle in our hotel room.

Hanna is a deeply flawed film. But it is still one hell of a film. There's a lot of pleasures to be found: the cool Chemical Brothers music, the surprisingly muted, carefully calibrated and coolly detached action sequences that add menace and atmosphere, the simple narrative that nevertheless engages the viewer, the vibrant locales, the terrific cinematography, the overt references to the Grimm fairy tales, and of course Saoirse Ronan, who truly speaks volumes with her eyes.

I'm surprised Luc Besson wasn't involved with this film in any way, because story and style of Hanna is very reminiscent of later period Besson. It is an attempt at 'cool' action movie, but I feel Wright wasn't the one to direct it. Tone of the film is hardly likable and it's never clear what was the purpose of it all. Bana should be banned from appearing on screen. Score by Chemical Brothers is something everyone mentions when talking about Hanna but I found it average at best.

Saoirse Ronan did an amazing job at being the socially awkward trained killing machine from the woods. This movie was a little strange and dragged in a few parts of the movie but all in all I would say it was really good. I really liked Hanna's friend in the movie played by Jessica Barden. She kept some comedy in a tense film. Cate Blanchett did an excellent job as the villain. Sometimes doing things in the film that made me hate her immensely. A fun and beautiful movie.
