Probably not as fine as the original stage production must have been -- but why quibble? A breezy walk into the land of delight where, finally, the rules of small insipid people and their small insipid views of reality do not apply. Stewart's defining screen role.

If you want a film that makes you feel like a kid again, this is it. Ok so the filiming isn't Ridley Scott and the dialogue is a bit iffy. But it's fun, charming and a real reminder of a more innocent age. - Ps Harvey is real !!

This movie has a diminutive setting but a giant scope. Stewart occupies the tenuous space between profound and simplistic with affable poise, wandering smoothly through an excited world with metaphorical grace. His contribution to the Harvey character is phenomenal, as he brings him alive long before any cute visual effects come into play. Watching this again the film's conception of a good life is remarkably well conceived, although it could be critiqued for being a bit too overt.

Stewart is excellent, while Oscar-winner Hull is a joy as his straight-laced sister who is continually embarrassed by his actions.

Dated, but charming.

I never found this film as heartwarming as others do. Elwood P. Dowd is just another shiftless, self-absorbed drunk as far as I'm concerned. The giant rabbit (excuse me--"Pookah") makes little difference to me.

Another good James Stewart movie.

Movies can be oh so smart, or oh so pleasant. I recommend pleasant. Not that Harvey is dumb either mind you - the script is funny and sharp, the morals sweet and charming, the performances exceptional. James Stewart sees Harvey even if you can't - the physicality of his performance makes the idea that Harvey is a delusion seem absurd - Harvey is real! His disarming manner and beautiful execution of a character who feels so wonderful and real makes Harvey one of my favourite movies.

One of the most charming films I've seen. It should be around a 50, but I'm a James Stewart fanboy.

One of my favorite classics.

Harvey is a classic comedy, full of charisma and purity, which may sound dated. But it's still very nice to watch. The charisma and talent of James Stewart is always fascinating, no doubt, one of the best actors in cinema history.

Jimmy Stewart hits the ball out of the park with his performance. This film has an interesting original script. Definitely this film is a classic.

One Jimmy Stewart. There is only one Jimmy Stewart. How did I not see this before? I kept expecting it to turn into screwball comedy, and yet there's Stewart (and Josephine Hull) injecting such urgent humanity into their roles.

Quite Annoying. It'd be hard to rank the top irritating character. But if you exclude Stewart you could just randomly pick anyone.

People had been telling me to watch this film for years, and they were right, it's a fantastic film about eccentricity, politeness, and the human condition.
