Clint Eastwood growls at black people, gets them to conquer Grenadan Superpower.

Clint's tough guy demeanor is really out of control in this film. He squints even harder than usual.

Occasionally quite funny, and oddly emotional, "Heatbreak Ridge" is packed full of one-liners so much so that much of this film feels like "Full Metal Jacket - The Light & Shite Cut". On top of the actually fairly solid script are several layers of the finest homoerotic tension ever seen on screen outside of "Top Gun" and "The Running Man". I'm pretty sure I saw several semi-lob-on's in this film, with Clint ramping up the man-tension.

Overly long silly script but fuck it , it's Eastwood being an asshole for two hours.

At the beginning, I thought it had potential. But, I was damn wrong! I can't still believe; how on earth have Eastwood accepted this role? Damn, I have never seen a hardcore homophobic film like this. What's more it must have written by a homophobic homo writer! And what about Corporal 'Stitch' Jones? He simply freakmed me out, no man I don't wanna see (even recall)that acting again and how come someone can stand the sight of him?

This is not the best war movie but it has a lot of entertaining moments. Clint Eastwood plays his usual strong, tough character again and he is great at it. The romantic part of the story is not very exciting but the training and war scenes are interesting. Overall I recommend this movie.

All in all quite disappointing. However, the acting by Clint Eastwood makes it still an enjoyable moovie. Also a good perfomance by Marsha Mason.

Didn't know Clint directed it. Guess that makes it quite self-indulgent. It's trashy, but enjoyable enough.

It's Clint Eastwood being a badass gunnery sergeant (released the same year as "Fullmetal Jacket", amusingly enough), and nothing else. That's enough to carry the film, but over the course of 2+ hours, it gets old, and by the end, you just want it to end. Had they edited the movie better, cutting out at least half an hour, it would have been more entertaining and not over-stayed its welcome. As it is, it's still a very watchable picture, even with only one real attraction.

Embarrassing piece of shit that actually does its best to make the Grenada invasion seem like a good idea. You'd have to be psychic to guess that Eastwood would later be regarded as one of the best directors in America

Very weak Clint Eastwood movie, though I wish I could do that to every sissy I see wearing an earring.
