A budget UK noir that lacks the charm of other poverty row flicks. Sixty minutes of celluloid is squandered on superfluous shit like "back story" and "characterization." There's no hook! We learn a lot about the protagonist's gig as an author and what he likes to drink and how he digs the neighbor's wife and how his agent is going to drop him etc, but it doesn't amount to much. Ignore this cheap rip-off of better films. Rent a budget noir masterpiece like Detour instead.

Could've greatly benefited by being about a half an hour longer.
