Wow, if this movie were actually true to its point of exploring hecklers and criticism semi-objectively, it would have been an awesome documentary, but Jamie Kennedy turns this movie into an 80 minute pouting contest where he wonders aloud "Why don't people think I'm as funny as I think I am?" over and over again until he has actually overshadowed brilliant comedic voices making salient points with his mopey histrionics.

ugh, one of those docs where they just interview a bunch of idiots and try to get sound bytes to support their original premise. It's a good thing some of the sound bytes are funny in this case.

Would've been better had it been what the DVD case claimed it was; ie, comedians recounting their on-the-job hassle(r)s. Instead we're suddenly talking about this Jamie Kennedy guy all the time, who apparently is some kind of performer, even though he can't read exactly (I too can remember voting for his dad); and then we go off on critics. Oh well, at least the rubbery dancer guy was cool. And I'm criticizing a movie that criticizes people who criticize people (whoa--my head just exploded).

First off I should say that Heckler raises some good points. It allows us to see the emotional side of comedians/artists and how they react to negative criticism, some of which is most certainly personal attacks. The problem with the documentary is that a lot of it is focused entirely on Jamie Kennedy. Flat out he isn't a terrible person and he has been in good movies (see Three Kings and the Specials if you doubt it). But watching him try and defend "Son of the Mask" is just embarrassing.

Not very informative and the Bill Hicks part was the best but I had already seen it on youtube a hundred times before. Jamie Kennedy deserves to be heckled honestly, get a day job buddy.

It's kind of meta to write a review for this, but whatever. For the first twenty minutes, you get what it says on the tin: Hecklers are assholes because they ruin live shows. I can't agree more, but then it switches gears into hatred of media criticism for the remaining hour, which is a ridiculous parallel to draw. Does Jaime Kennedy not believe that bad movies exist at all? Sour grapes, plain and simple. This documentary was not entertaining, endearing, funny, or educational. Don't bother.

Starts off as a documentary on hecklers, but quickly moves into a critique of criticism. It seemed like it was just a bunch of comedians that had gotten poor reviews, finally getting a medium to express their unhappiness with those reviews. It had some interesting base ideas, but didn't delve deep enough in to any of them to be worth watching, and instead feels like some weird cathartic release for Jamie Kennedy.

Betrays its premise way early. Very few people in its second half raise good points, especially Jamie Kennedy, who is almost as embarrassing to watch as his brainless hecklers. 'Tis always fun to hear the Pat-Francis-getting-heckled story, though.

Hits an odd place for me because I do enjoy looking at films and what not through a critical eye but also do get on stage and have had to deal with hecklers. Ultimately I think there is a difference between somebody being an ass at a comedy show and somebody taking a shot at Jamie Kennedy's shitty movie in a humorous way on the internet. So as the film transitioned between just stand up to criticism in general to Jamie Kennedy not being able to deal with criticism, it just got worse.

Hey. Fuck you Jamie Kennedy. It is funny how bad critics hate this movie, given you know, the subject of the movie.

The movie says basically: 1. Hecklers are arseholes 2. Critics should shut up, if you've not got anything nice to sa....wah...wah...waaaaahhhh...... 1. OK. 2. No Jamie Kennedy, No.

Mrs. and Mr. Kennedy should all do us a favor and poor acid over their genitalia. Jamie is the worse comedian of the last 5000 years and should really end his life before he subjects the American viewing public to another one of these ridiculous films.

Jamie Kennedy gets mad and makes a documentary about people who don't like him. It's actually not as bad as it sounds.

Started out about heckling (interesting) then turned into disparaging the very notion of criticism. While critics are often mean-spirited and try too hard to be funny (they're not), I don't take issue with negative criticisms just because people might have their feelings hurt. Ultimately, there's just not enough here to put into a feature-length film

It's an interesting take on what we demand of our preformers, but ultimately the question of "Why did you say Jamie Kennedy sucks?" is answerable with "Because he does, out loud."

The first half is super interesting and then decides to focus on Jamie Kennedy being unfunny and butthurt that people start heckling him for being unfunny and butthurt.

Some comedians I respect made some good points. Im sure everyone agrees that hecklers are assholes, though. The majority of the film wasn't even about that. it was Jamie Kennedy whining the entire time. Nice parenting by the way, your son sounds like a real "fuckin'" class act.

Half of this film is about hecklers, but half is about Jamie Kennedy coming face to face with his critics. He might be butt hurt about the critics that he interviews in the film, but the sad truth is that they are all right. If you're gonna throw shit at a screen and expect it to stick, then you should also expect to get called out on it every time!

I set my feelings about "actors/performers that suck" aside when I saw this film. Its a pretty stark look at an aspect of society that thrives off of the misery and mocks the sacrifices entertainers have to make to make a living in live settings. I don't like Jaime Kennedy's material but I am at least not making his existence awful simply because of my irrational opinions.

50 points for the first half of the movie, and 5 points for the second. I was expecting a documentary on hecklers, but it shifted into a documentary about how much performers hate criticism. Whiny and biased toward the notion that it's wrong for people to state negative opinions (which is bullshit)
