A interesting German film. This features one the greatest silent actors in my eyes - Lars Hanson and he delivers. The movie does lack a real climax as it all builds up to one moment and it's rather so-so after the initial reaction. Gustav Fröhlich was good too as the friend and lover, but it's Hanson's reactions the movie lived on when he discovers whats happened when he'd been away. Joe May directs a quality movie, but there should have been more to the story then this.
