Summary: Year 2016: The sun has burned everything and made life on earth almost impossible. Germany has not been spared and is now barren land. Only the one who avoids the sun has a chance to live. In this situation, Marie is on the road with Philip and her little sister Leonie. They try to reach the mountains where water is supposed to be left. On their way, they meet Tom and tension grows in the little group whether to trust him or not. (by tathiel)
Decent movie by first time director TIm Fehlbaum. There is definitely nothing new to it plotwise. However, it manages to grip the audience two or three times and that is an accomplishment that unfortunately many movies by other, more experierenced directors do not meet.
I always enjoy a country other than the US's take on a post-apocalyptic world. Too bad Hell was utterly suspense-free, mind-numbingly uneventful, and filled with moronic, unlikable main characters who had me rooting for the crazies. Also, the repeated utilization of the sun's glare to cover up low production values grew quite irritating after about the 5th time. Hopefully for all of us, Herr Fehlbaum will go back to making gummi bears rather than popping open that fold-up director's chair again.
