Summary: Laconic drifter Henry again insinuates himself into a low-life family -- here headed by part-time arsonist Kai, whom Henry gradually converts to his one-maniac cult of abrupt and senseless violence. A subplot charts Kai and wife Cricker's neurotic young niece Louisa's increasingly obsessive crush on the antisocial killer. (imdb)

Parello's belated sequel is a virtual revamp of the original's basic plot. Giuntoli is creepily competent but no match for the blood-freezing Michael Rooker. On its own, this is a reasonably well executed (so to speak) descent into slaughter and sleaze, sort of what _Stepfather II_ was to the original. But as a successor to a true pioneer, this unnecessary reprise is little more than a faint echo of the original's shout of celluloid rage.
